Website Development

What to look for...

  • Jenny Gerbasi: CSS layout (no tables) with scalable pictures.
  • In Plain View: Rollover menu with pop-up "examples" of artwork, and scrollable art "gallery" for each artist, are 100% Java-free (both done with CSS)
  • Coregonid 2008 and Montana Mysteries: Joomla! CMS sites (Coregonid uses CSS)
  • MSCA, NSD, UU Church, WMA, CHW, In Plain View, Express Yourself: All these sites are table-less, CSS-based designed sites which adhere to web standards.
  • I have collected notes and explanations for some web design concepts I feel are important, such as Web Standards and CSS, here: Web Standards: Under the Hood of Web Design.

Software Training

The majority of software training I do is in Winnipeg as a contractor. I train privately and for several well-known and respected training centers including Nexient (formerly Polar Bear Corporate Education/CDI College), ctc Train Canada, and 2000 Plus Customized Computer Training.

For specific courses, please see my résumé page.

Private lesson fee varies depending on time commitment, level of training and software, and location. Please call 774-5757 or send me an email for more information.

Database Development

Several large database contracts have been in the works since 2004, keeping me effectively out of trouble as I add to my ever-expanding skill set. (Gee, databases are fun... who knew?)

Desktop Publishing

Once the centerpiece of my non-training contract work, fixing long documents and manuals, creating promotional material and business cards, and other publishing tasks still happily occupy my work life now and again. I am finding that the publishing and editing skills I have in this area certainly compliment both the web design arena and software instruction.
